Muay Thai-Decide-The Pin Life =^D

Good Morning Beautiful People,

It is a great morning for me indeed. I got my ass kicked last night and I loved it! Yeah, I'm a little sadomasochistic in that way. LOL! I went to a PINPOINT Muay Thai in Lynbrook, NY with my two besties and it was definitely interesting. For starters, once again, thank you TURBOFIRE! And I'll give myself a little pat on the back as well for actually going through the program, because had I not been doing an intense cardio conditioning program like TF, I would have passed out. The teacher, Andy Singh, was super amazing. I can see why he hasn't lost any of his amateur fights and just recently fought his first pro fight and won that one as well. He is roughly around my height (5'2ish-5'3ish) but for a smaller stature, that man moves QUICK and with A LOT of POWER! It was crazy fun and I'm definitely going back even though it is a trek for me to get there. It is worth the 1-2hr ride!

Now, I got excited because I was able to release some pent up energy but, the most exciting thing for me was all the women in the class. HOW FREAKIN' COOL!!! These ladies were sweet and sporty but you didn't want to mess with them because the could easily knock your lights out. Anybody who knows me, knows that that kind of thing is my stimulus! Sweet and nice... but the second you step out of line, be very careful. One of the female trainers saw that I had a lot of power in my kicks and punches but she quickly taught me a very valuable lesson. "You are using too much force. Relax and breathe." And I'm here like, "You have got to be kidding me... not again." What I meant by that is, no matter whether I am fighting, meditating or singing, I always forget to breathe properly and I get super tense. This is just a testament to all the anxiety that I developed in my life that quickly turned into problems that where left unchecked. The second I switched my mindset and relaxed, focusing on ebbing and flowing the blows I received with the blows I was giving... SYNERGY WAS CREATED!!! I physically felt what "ying and yang" IS! It was incredible! The harmony between giving a blow to the side and receiving a blow to the side, is the same. The energy I released when striking my partner, was absorbed by her and re-released to my when she hit back, adding on her own personal energy, which I then absorbed and became one with. Then, the cycle repeated, getting bigger, stronger and faster, creating motion. It's almost felt like an energy ball formed around us linking the two together. If I had to say what it "looked" like, I would say an atom. It's funny that I should even consider it the image of an atom because we were circling each other every time we prepared to give a hit,  the way an electron circles a proton and nucleus.

So it was amazing, awesome and great and I recommend that everyone take a self defense class at least once in their life. What would you be going for? Self-defense isn't the only thing that martial arts provided. With any form of physical activity, that has a system involved, discipline is required. Something like Muay Thai can and will develop that because without it, you will fail. That's just the way it is. Anything worth doing in life requires discipline, but things that are worth being called "Great," require you to dig deeper than that. Martial arts also helps with CONFIDENCE, coordination, concentration, obviously fitness, health and wellness, linking mind, body and spirit. I emphasized confidence because this is the one things most people lack. You know they want to do "something," but can't get the nerve up to do it. Whatever that thing is, you must find a way to come to terms with it. First and foremost, DECIDE. That is the first step to anything you want to do. Now, when I say "DECIDE" I'm not saying, "Pick something and do it." That's is too flakey! When you decide to do anything in your life, make the whole hearted intent within yourself that whatever it is you want to accomplish will BE accomplish. Make it so powerful in your mind that Death himself will have to await until YOU are done will you missions in life. After that, he can come pick you up in a caddy with the craziest speaker system playing your songs of life as you enter the afterlife. INTEND YOUR LIFE. You do have that right and power, so freakin' use it! Some people don't want to go through the effort of taking a martial arts class because, like going to the gym, its too much work for them. There is a level of laziness and idleness we all have. But, should you decide to take on the mission of challenging yourself with different things that will most definitely make you a better person, never allow the outer and inner voices to stop you. You ARE WORTH the FIGHT! Decide NOW!
