Day 2-4 of P90X/TurboFire LET'S GO!!!

Good Saturday MORNING!!!

Okay, ok! I apologize for not writing for the last 2 days! Today is Day 4 for me and the workout is P90X's YOGA X. I love this workout!

Yoga is essential to any workout! Yoga has a deeper meaning then just stretching in weird ways. It hold a spiritual significance to those who practice it. The deep breathing, the deep stretching releases tension while training the mind to focus. The thoughts that are chaotic in the mind are silenced and allows the one practicing the art to finally be one with the deepest parts of him. All that is internal work, that is necessary to any goal, in fitness or life.

But on the OUTSIDE LOL, yoga teaches you to use your own weight and strength to sculpt the body into what it is meant to look like naturally. I have had amazing results with all different "types" of yoga. But don't get caught up with all the "different name" people place on this method of exercise. Yoga is stretching... keep it simple. Try it once in your life. If you have a moment with God... enjoy it and have fun! It might happen.

P90X/TurboFire Hybrid Day 1 DECIDE COMMIT SUCCEED!!!

P90X – TurboFire

Hybrid Schedule.

So Day 1 wasn't as bad as I thought. Don't get me wrong, IT WAS ROUGH but, I did give my all! That's all I want you to do. I want you to come back everyday and just do your best! I want you to fill your body with all the appropriate vitamins and nutrients. Fill you mind with positive energy. When doing these workout, I do 3 things!

DECIDE
I decided a long time ago that the best of me should come out and it was my responsibility to make that happen. There is no turning back at that point. Once a decision is made... STICK WITH IT!

COMMIT
Commit yourself to YOU! Set up your goals. Make a To-Do list. I suggest to do Chalene Johnson's 30 Day Challenge. I will promote this 'til kingdom come because it was the catalyst that helped me move forward in a clear, guided manner to figure out what I needed to do to accomplish my goals.

SUCCEED
In simple terms... JUST DO IT! You can and will do it! So to intrigue you... stay tuned this week for "Sheena's Fitness & Accountability 30-Day Challenge." There will be prizes and giveaways. But the biggest prize will be the way you feel after deciding, committing and succeeding at your set goals for this challenge. There will be rules... but don't fret! This is going to be fun! I'm going to make you WORK! But you're not going to die! Well, maybe the part of you, you know Mr. Ego, might need a funeral but... that's a good thing. Make me PROUD! I BELIEVE IN YOU!!!

So to start you off... check out the P90X/TurboFire Hybrid Schedule. Part of the challenge will be to pick a program of your choice that you'd be interested. The more people who join this challenge the better so, get your friends! To pick and purchase a program that peaks your interest, visit my website at www.beachbodycoach.com/sheenaeverubet. Should you do these workouts and supply your body with the necessary nutritionals, and it just doesn't work for you, you have a 30-day money back guarantee and Beachbody will refund you your $$$! You really can't lose but I'll save all that for the challenge blog post.

For Those Who Already Have A Program
Make sure you get on some Shakeology. It will help keep your energy up during the day consistently. Message me and I can help you get started on that. Trust... you are gonna thank me later. And like I said, if you don't like it or it doesn't work for you... you get your money back. But once you see its working and that you are feeling better overall, I expect a, "Thank you Sheenz!" Just kidding! =^P Remember, you join my team and you get free personal coaching! You get support from people who actually care because this is what WE DO!

Switch IT UP!!! P90X/TURBOFIRE HYBRID MISSION

So, I have gotten far with TurboFire and clearly its my first love... almost an addiction! But, I want to step it up a bit. With programs like P90X, TurboFire or Insanity, you will definitely get to the next level in fitness. Whatever your goal is, you will quickly reach it if you stay committed to the goal and first decide to succeed not matter what. But, because of their intensity, often people give up. Please, don't ever give up. You would be doing yourself an injustice!

Tony Horton first created Power 90 and honestly it's not that bad compared to P90X. But like any great leader, Tony has up'd his game once more and decide to create P90X:MC2, the next level in the P90 Series. I don't know whether to call the man crazy or a genius... usually the two are the same anyway. Now, I'm not going to lie, P90X kicked my butt and I never was able to get past week 3. So, I switched over to TurboFire.

It was just what I needed and Chalene is just as nuts as Tony is! TurboJam, Chalene's first Beachbody program, is easy compared to TurboFire. And Chalean Extreme is like a P90X for her series. I have gotten amazing results with TurboFire, greatly increasing my stamina, maintaining an active metabolism and getting a crazy after-burn hours after completing a daily workout. Needless to say, I'm a feen for Turbo!

But, I needed something a little harder. I'm not crazy yet, but when I get there I will try Insanity. Shaun T can have all that for now. Anyway, I went onto the teambeachbody.com website and found the workout sheets to the Beachbody programs under the Get Fit tab. And it was as though God said, "Let there be MUSCLES... ON SHEENA!!!" There it was, the P90X/TurboFire Hybrid Log Sheet,  glistening on the screen... calling my name. "Sheena.... oh Sheena... Come on Sheena you know you want to." I screamed "No, you are trying to kill me." And the sheet said (bare with me, I feel like being dramatic today), "No we aren't... we are trying to help you! Sheena... muscles... fit... sexy... ::roar::" And there it was, me printing out the sheets and preparing myself for this day.

But, I'm prepared. I have my P90X Results and Recovery Formula and Shakeology. What could go wrong?! Let me not even start that cause I have a tendency to speak and things happen.

Ok onto GOALS!

I have dropped enough weight to now start sculpting my body as I see it. One thing I do to help me envision what I wish to look like is find an image online that best resembles what I want to achieve physically. One of my favorite bodies belongs to Olympic swimmer Dara Torres. She is 43 and thinking, once again, of entering the 2012 Olympics! Clearly, I will be rooting for her!

SO, I have an image in my mind. Now, what do I want to be able to physically do? Well, I want to be able to lift my own weight of 130-135lbs. Once I am able to achieve that, everything else is just a plus. Also, I want to increase my flexibility.  Flexibility is key and most people don't take the time to do exercises like Yoga or just regular stretching to increase their ability to move farther and deeper. This results in the muscle head look and being extra stiff for no reason. So people, of you are going to do any of these workouts or your own version of them, PLEASE STRETCH!!! Or you will break, pop, or strain something and that is no fun, when you could have just taken some preventive steps. Don't give me the satisfaction of saying, "I told you."

Also, I want to look like my business. Being an Independent Beachbody Coach and owning my own business has been a blessing. Working with amazing people in other states, working out with others and just building residual income is always fun and exciting. And how else could I prove that Beachbody is worth EVERYONES time! Well, I can look the part. In anything that you do, do it because you love it. Do it because it resonates deeply with you. And BE the person you see yourself as. Whether in fitness or in music, I always saw myself as someone who was mentally and physically strong. I have had many challenges and obstacles test that strength and I have come out victorious. I have failed and I have gotten back up again.

So as I embark on kicking my own butt again, increasing the intensity of my workouts, by doing the P90X/TurboFire Hybrid, I ask you to challenge yourself today. Make a list of your goals. Keep it simple and realistic. Make goals that you can accomplish today and in the near future. Always remain in the "NOW" with your thoughts and actions, understanding that actions you take today will magnify your life the moment you step into being yourself rather then waiting to become YOU.

I will be blogging my progress and putting up videos about how I'm doing and feeling, what I'm eating and what I'm leaving. Many have asked that I do these videos to see exactly what it is I do to get results. I may cry in a video, or scream, or be happy or angry, so prepare yourself. I'm willing to be vulnerable and HUMAN so that you can see that, through it all, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. Life is meant to abundant and it is you who chooses how much abundance will be allowed to enter your reality.

Have an awesome day!

Creatine... The "Cocaine" for Athletes

Well I'm glad that the title of this blog got your attention, but what does that say about you! Lol Just kidding.

Creatine- An athletes best friend. Anyone who wants to lose weight and build muscle (muscles burns fat by the way) should take this supplement. But what is Creatine and what does it do?

I first learned about Creatine when I first did P90X. Tony Horton kept on mentioning the recovery drink. Also, my ex-bf mentioned I should get it because if not, I would be in a lot of pain. Ok, so far all I know is that I have to get this P90X powder if I don't want to ache the next day. But what made the P90X Recovery Drink so important in my transformation? Its main ingredient! Creatine usually comes in powder form and increases the body's ability to produce energy rapidly. That's an excellent thing! Imagine trying to exercise, and having to do an hour long workout and you can't even last 10 mins. For high intensity workouts, Creatine gives you that extra boost.

Now, yesterday I was at Planet Fitness -The Judgement Free Zone- with my bestie/first client, Shanise. We worked every single muscle we have. We even have a new slogan, "If you're not cursing my name out tomorrow, you didn't work hard enough today!" It WAS that intense. Now, this entire week we have been working out... HARD! Along with daily balanced meals, I've been taking Shakeology for my in-between meals snacks and Twin Labs Creatine-Strength right before and after my workouts, though I would have preferred the P90X Recovery Drink- just ran out =^( . I noticed I have not been in a lot of pain; and I know it has to do with the Creatine because prior to introducing it into my diet, working out was murderous!

So I called Creatine the "Cocaine" for Athletes... why? Well, just for kicks, it is a white tasteless powder unless flavored for marketing purposes. You know people need to have the "Berry Blast," "Orange Tang," "Strawberry Swirls" in their lives. Usually, that's done because the product tastes nasty. But, the creatine I have tried tend to not have any flavor. Also, cocaine is a drug that makes you feel high. While cocaine can KILL YOU, creatine will enhance you and your workout. The harder your work out, the more endorphins you release, giving you a natural high. But like any "drug," people can become addicted. I can greatly see how people could frequently take Creatine to relieve pain. It does kind of kill the motto "No Pain, No Gain" by enhancing the amount of energy you produce. It allows more water to enter your muscle cells, increasing protein synthesis (muscles are made of proteins), causing you to increase the amount of effort you put into your workouts and all the while, repairing the ripping and tearing you are causing your muscles, decreasing the pain you feel, while increasing the results you wish to see. But the idiot that takes Creatine and does not work out, is in for an adverse surprise.

Creatine makes you gain weight! WHAT!?!?!?! I just scared the hell out of everyone who was thinking about getting some. Let me explain!

Creatine helps the muscles heal when they have been ripped apart from the strenuous exercises you do. It patches up all the torn muscles fibers, making them grow bigger. This is only a good thing if you take advantage of the burst of energy you get from creatine and actually do an intense workout.  Like I said before, muscle burns fat. But if you don't exercise while taking Creatine, all you are doing is retaining water that is not being released as sweat. Water weight is not cool! =^P Lol. So you start gaining weight and its not event due to muscles. All you have done is frustrated yourself because you attempted to do one thing and accomplished another. Don't misuse this supplement! Don't fool yourself with the idea that creatine gives you a burst of energy and that is what you need. If you need energy, go eat some healthy, balanced, nutrient filled foods. Shakeology would actually be a great start. Use it as a meal replacement.

Another possible side effect with Creatine is that it has been known to cause dehydration. Hence, another reason why the average joe shouldn't just take it for kicks. You must be aware that your water intake must increase and will be released when you sweat it out during a workout routine. Athletes should already be consuming more water then the average person and will need to increase it once more when taking Creatine. You don't really need to worry about this. Just increase your water intake with an extra 2-3 glasses of water and you'll be fine. Some people experience dehydration more than others. If you feel dehydrated when taking Creatine, immediately drink water. During my workouts, I usually carry a hydration pack with me. These can be a little expensive but the cheapest I've seen them for a good quality one has been $25. Invest in one! TODAY! =^D It is worth it, especially when the summer heat waves appear.

Use Creatine before, during or after a workout. Give your all to your workout and push past your breaking point, creating a new level to conquer next time. Have fun! Always do your best! And keep coming back. Remember, you are loving yourself and doing something for yourself when you work on developing your body, your mind and your spirit.

Have a wonderful day and keep SMILING!!!

Training to the Core-Deprogram Reprogram Your Life (Day 1)

Have you ever felt trapped in your body? Physically? Mentally? Emotionally? Ever felt like you just wanted to crack open your shell and emerge as a new creature? Like a butterfly confined to its cocoon knowing that the growing pains are getting to intense and too strong to remain in that shell any longer. But something is wrong. You just can't seem to break free.

That is exactly what I have felt a great portion of my teenage and young adult life. I've wanted to run out of my skin so many time because I understood that something deeper in me was yearning for something bigger and better that is deserved.

I understood that I was out of alignment with whatever it was that I was suppose to do in life. And it could have simply been to enjoy it, but I wasn't due to stress factors and problem I have brought upon myself. So I started setting goals... and accomplishing them.
